Aviva Investors has appointed Friends Life chief investment officer Mark Versey as director of client solutions.

Versey will take up the role in January and report to incoming chief executive Euan Munro.

Munro departed Standard Life Investments in July to take up the role.

Versey was at Friends Life for three years, and previously spent time at Axa UK, Morgan Stanley, Lehman Brothers and Deutsche Bank.

Earlier this year, it was revealed Aviva Investors was to cut 6 per cent of its global workforce in preparation for Munro’s arrival.

An Aviva Investors spokesman says: “Mark will work closely with our new CEO, Euan Munro, to further strengthen our investment proposition, support our internal clients and grow the business externally as we embed our focus on investment solutions that deliver income with low volatility.”
