JP Morgan Asset Management has redesigned its sales capability in response to RDR to create a new global relationship management team that reports to the head of UK funds, Jasper Berens.

Andrew Larkin has been named as head of JP Morgan AM’s brand new global strategic relationships management team that is a deliberate attempt to, according to Berens, “be certain our resources are optimally aligned to our greatest opportunities and our most important strategic clients”.

Larkin’s team will focus separately on advisory and discretionary fund panelling, wealth managers as well as distribution channels through insurance companies and platforms.

He joins from Neptune Investment Management where he was head of strategic partnerships in a largely UK-based role. He also has experience of senior roles with M&G, DWSD Investments and Lloyds TSB.

Reporting to Larkin, Jamie Farquhar will head up the fund panelling team; Nick Keem is in charge of the wealth management division, while a new wholesale head is still being recruited.

In a related change, Mike Parsons will become head of another new team, the field sales team, and report to Berens. This is a change from his role as head of UK intermediary sales and he will now be responsible, in partnership with Larkin and the investment trust team, for the services the business offers UK retail market channels.
